Betty Louise Smith Jacksonville - Betty Louise Smith, of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024, at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born the daughter of William and Pearl (Wilson) West in Bethel, IL. She married James Gibbs, and he preceded her in death, she later married Daniel Smith, and he also preceded her in death. She is survived by four grandchildren, Heather (Pam Angelo) Baker, Chrissy (Ryan) Dirden, Wesley (Emily) Howerton, and Jimmy (Lori) Howerton; and six great grandchildren, Paislee Dirden, Hoyt Dirden, Kale Howerton, Isla Howerton, Koen Howerton, and Gavin Howerton She was also preceded in death by one son, Fenton Edward "Ed" Stout Jr.; three daughters, Dianna Pennell, Connie Baker, and Rhonda Howerton; one brother, Gary West; and three sisters, Marjorie Hart, Phyllis Allen, and Beverly Northrop. Betty worked most of her life in banking at Elliott State Bank and Marine Bank. She also worked at Ware Co. for 10 years. She enjoyed golfing, travelin
