Joyce Murray Greenfield - After a long and blessed life, Joyce Lee (McCool) Murray, 101, of Greenfield died Friday, August 23, 2024 at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton. Joyce was born November 13, 1922 in Patterson. She was the second of William and Ora (Clark) McCool's four children. She attended school in Patterson and then Roodhouse, graduating from high school in 1940. She then completed a course of study at Brown's Business College in Jacksonville. In June 1941, Joyce took a bookkeeping position at Black's Chevrolet-Oldsmobile in White Hall where she worked until the dealership closed in 1981. By this time Joyce was 59 years old. People suggested that maybe she would like to retire, but Joyce was not ready to slow down. She was hired at White Hall National Bank (now People's Bank) where she remained until she retired in 2012 at the age of 89.
