Karen L. Havlin, 84 of Jacksonville, passed away August 23, 2024, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. She was born March 9, 1940, the daughter of Robert and Vera (Schroeder) McCormick. She married Donald Havlin on March 10, 1961, in Bowling Green, Missouri and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2020.
Karen is survived by one daughter, Lisa (Rob) Haley of Jacksonville; one grandson, Levi (Jill) Haley of Jacksonville; three great grandchildren, Hugh Harper, and Henley Haley; two sisters, Peggy (Jerry) Mulquin of Pittsfield and Martha (John) Kuhn of Burlington, CO; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother, John Edward McCormick.
Karen worked as a school librarian for many years. She was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed researching genealogy and sewing.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Jacksonville with inurnment to follow at Diamond Grove
