Catherine "Cathy" L. Burton, 65, passed away at home in Roodhouse on Friday March 14, 2025. She was born November 24, 1959 in Chicago to George and Mildred Robinson Helwig. Cathy grew up in the Jacksonville area and was a 1977 graduate of Bluffs High School.
Cathy was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, wife, and friend who valued her loved ones above all else and who would drop everything to help anyone who needed it. She cherished visits with her children and grandchildren and had a passion for cooking for others. Her delicious meals brought people together and everyone knew they were welcome at her table. She made sure to spoil her family for every holiday, especially Christmas. Her family will honor her memory by continuing their tradition of viewing Christmas light displays and making holiday treats together. She also enjoyed music, dancing, and hunting for mushrooms.
